Unbelievable as it may sound, in one shop I've seen them stick a 4" round
steel part 2" thick to the faceplate of a big Heald Red Head ID/OD grinder.
I told them if that part came off over a 12,000 RPM ID spindle, it would
kill somebody. And indeed the trial piece shifted alarmingly easily under
hand pressure. I flat refused the job, and they went to sequential clamping
first on OD and then on ID, to do both in one setup. Whew.
