I too have a floating head..(

new from New Hermes. (big $$$) You can get them for less....A good place

I consider them a "Must Have" device. If I were to redesign my Router, I
would design a slide mechanism in conjunction with the Z axis leadscrew
nut that could be engaged or disengaged as necessary. You would STILL
have issues with a proper "Foot" device as well as depth control.My goal
would be to use it with a router and not my E-Spindle.
The OEM E-spindle could not be replaced however as they not only have
the slide mechanism built in, but also the depth control via micrometer
type adjustment.
Worth EVERY Dime.
