Don't forget the genuine stuff: Reusable "Engravers Tape"...... This
clear double sided is suprisingly sticky, is somewhat re-useable and
cheaper than the carpet tape. Most any on-line Awards and Engraving
supplier sells it. I get mine from Ability Plastics:
www.abilityplastics.com

I too have a floating head..(
http://www.visionengravers.com/html/spindles.html) I purchased it brand
new from New Hermes. (big $$$) You can get them for less....A good place
to check them out is at: http://www.visionengravers.com/html/spindles.html

I consider them a "Must Have" device. If I were to redesign my Router, I
would design a slide mechanism in conjunction with the Z axis leadscrew
nut that could be engaged or disengaged as necessary. You would STILL
have issues with a proper "Foot" device as well as depth control. My goal
would be to use it with a router and not my E-Spindle.

The OEM E-spindle could not be replaced however as they not only have
the slide mechanism built in, but also the depth control via micrometer
type adjustment.

Worth EVERY Dime.
