The 25.4mm = 1" is the only metric/english conversion that I have
been able to remember in my peanut brain. I use it all the time. So
all of you can stop trying to confuse me.
One of the beauties about the metric system is it's relationship to
the prefect standard... Pure Liquid Water. One gram of water (1cc =
1 cubic centimeter) occupies the volume of a cube that is 1cm on a
side. Or 1000cc of water (1 liter) occupies the volume of a cube
that is 10cm on a side, and so on.
The important thing to remember about all this conversion stuff, is
that we all use the same standards so that all of our parts fit each
others gadgets.
