Point taken... But I ask you to consider.... If Microsoft had not released the inner details of Windows, and how to program for it, would we all have supported it was the facts show we have( I think over 100million users can't be wrong ) I don't think there would have been the choice of programs if only Microsoft decided to write programs for Windows, and no one else...

The "patent" is supposed to give any truly new innovation a head start( normally 17 years) and make it possible to recover some of the initial costs. But if a company wants to keep a trade secret secret, bless their hearts they are in a free country and have the God given right to do so..... BTW I am not supporting the patent office, it stinks !.... I just read a patent wherein the author laid "claim" to the RS-232 ...... the patent was issued in 1990 and I know RS-232 was around a long time before that... Patents are a feeding ground for lawyers, nothing else...
