Moglice

Just before Christmas, Bruce Campbell at Devitt Machinery (their Sr.
Applications Engineer) called me. Dee (their office manager, I think)
remembered me as a repeat customer of the 1000 fluid, and that I had
mentioned that I only used a tiny amount of the first kit and the rest went
to waste.
He asked me if I thought a smaller package of Moglice would sell. They
have done testing in the past, and are able to package the Moglice fluid
down to 25-gram kits (basically like fast food ketchup packaging). Smaller
and they can't keep the ratio of the parts accurate enough. That is 1/4
the size of their current smallest package. Bruce also said that there is
a minor problem with the fluid component discoloring from light exposure,
from clear to a smoky color. This doesn't seem to affect the properties,
just cosmetic. They would need to package the component in foil-faced
pouches to prevent that, but I said that the looks wouldn't bother me at
all.
I pointed out that needing to buy a 15-oz can of spray release would put a
crimp in the small Moglice kit, but Bruce said that their liquid wax
release, which normally comes in quart cans, will work in little spritzer
bottles too, so they could package a similarly small amount.
Needless to say, I expressed my enthusiasm at the possibility of smaller
kits (even if it was 3 or 4 25-gram Moglice packets and a little bottle of
release in a kit) I'm really impressed at Devitt's customer
responsiveness--and more than a little flattered that they would remember
me and take the time to call and ask my opinion! :-)
This is my suggestion (and not prompted by Bruce at all!)--if you're
interested in seeing smaller Moglice kits, you might drop them an email at
sales@... and let them know.
Best regards,
Randy
