If it is still in the distribution, use steppermod.o. Gecko G320/340's
don't care about the more even the pulse spacing that you get with
freqmod.o due to the way the pulse is only used to drive an accumulator.
Steppermod.o takes less resources, can put out a faster pulse stream,
and does not have all the hassles of tuning to eliminate the software
induced follow errors that are so common with freqmod.o
