Well, I called JBWeld today, and they say that their recommended release
agent is good old fashioned Vaseline. Anything you want it to stick to,
you clean with acetone, to get it *good* and clean.

They told me that this type of thing (i.e. cast nuts) is a fairly common
use for their epoxy, and that it shows wear properties very similar to
steel, so the repeated sliding friction of a screw thread won't be a
problem. This was a concern to me. Yes I told them it was for an X-Y
table, and it'd be under continuous motion...not a problem, they said.

Guess I'll go buy some at WalMart, tonight, and see how well it works.
It's certainly cheap enough to play with.
