I did something very similar today.
Since I'v built the controller enclosure to house _EVERYTHING_ (meaning motor
power supply, Geckos, Computer parts, breakout board, Computer power supply,
etc...), I used a spare molex connector with wires and crimped ends on all
four wires (red, black, black, yellow).

Then I used one of the Radio Shack barrier
strips (with a handy four positions) to connect to it.
Plugging that in to one of the moles connectors from the computer power
supply, I not only get my +5V now, but I also have a handy place to get the
12V for the 3 CPU fans and heatsinks on the back of the Geckos.
