Well, you really should turn it down. Unless you have MONSTER
motors, you don't need that much voltage, and it will make the Gecko
and the motor run hotter.

What is pretty close? 18" or less? Then, you don't need the capacitors.
Motor wire length does not matter for this.

The parallel port does NOT provide any +5 V. You can get it from pin 1
of the game port (15 pin connector). The common on the Gecko 210
can be set for common + or common Ground. That is by way of a jumper
inside the drive. Due to the non-symmetric nature of the parallel port,
using common + works better.

What is the purpose of the UPS? To prevent parts from being ruined when
power glitches? Then, the axis motors, and also the spindle, need to be on
the UPS. If you just put the computer on the UPS, then position will be
lost
and the work may be chewed up when power fails.
