Re: DYNA 2400 SOFTWARE

There are built in API calls you can make but then you would have to
build your own class to do it all. I don't know how other forms of
communication are handled. I found the correct post file on
Mastercam educational web site. One problem was the formatting of
arc instructions like:

248 ZERO AT
249 X 1.3670
250 Y 2.1056
251 GR a-006.515
252 >REF COODS

The post file I was using added a GO before the X after a ZERO AT
which did not work. The one I'm using now formats correctly as shown
above. Now for the really wierd part. It works great while in
program execute mode, downloading the whole thing (less than 900
lines) at once. In line execute mode it flips out and makes huge
radii (like a couple inches). I called Dyan and the guy was helpfull
but seemed to think it was hardware related. He suggested checking
the battery on the controller. It's a 3.9V battery, which evidently
causes problems when it gets down to 3.6 volts. The battery is low
and I've yet to find one.

should work with the Dyna 2400 mill. I would able to run all code
generated from it and of course due to the 900 lines limitation from
the old Dyna, you would need to split the code into two files if it
exceed 900 lines. On dot.net case wouldn't it make sense that the
Dot.Net.Class covesr all communcation (modem,tcpip,port...etc..)
aspect ? If it doesn't, MicroSoft done a lousy job of investing and
developing this Dot.Net technology. More power to you Jeff and keep
going...
