Well, the most popular Bridgeport machine they now sell is the Ez-Trak,
and it is a complete manual machine with CNC capability. You push
e-stop, and it is a manual mill with a DRO. Pull E-stop and it is back
to CNC. Sometimes feel is very useful, and the handwheels are faster
for many one-off things. Especially if you have no other manual mill,
no drill press, etc. This is the way my shop is, and I've managed without
handwheels, but I miss them once in a while.
