As one who has operated a CNC machine in the 'real world', I can attest to
the need for handwheels. By far, the majority of jobs I've run require the
G92-ing of the workpiece from some feature on the part. Also, reworking or
re-installing the part for subsequent operations is also sometimes
required. It's so handy to use the handwheel to get to that reference
point.
