I'm planning on using 3/8 and 1/2" shafts and would not have a
problem it I needed to ream the bores to fit.

I will use drill rod for the shafting and that can be off as much as
you mentioned.

I wouldn't be uspset if I had to make my own Browning type bushing (
I think tha is the name) with a taper on the ID to lock in the
bushing and shaft.
