Bob,

I thought that all of the add-on cards would put out 5 volts. I guess that
I was wrong.

Using a breakout board like the one that we sell will take care of that
problem You will need to get the voltage up to the 5 volt level. Our boards
have an on board power transformer. We can read the 3 volt signal and then
change it to the 5 volt level.
