Hi Fogassa,

Sounds like a plan! My motion module is currently in 'C' and 'X86 assembly,
but the functions should come across to a PIC or Atmel platform.

The "box" could be made somewhat modular, with the drivers being made
modular. Processor board could be modular as well, then different
processors could be supported. You mention a uP for the display; another
place for a module.

It may be useful to mix big LEDs for axis positions with a 2 or 4 line LCD
for text/prompts.
