In fact, I can even see the spindle deflect (very slightly) when taking
moderately aggressive cuts in
Aluminum in my 1800 Lb Bridgeport! If a Bridgeport mill with a 3"
diameter quill isn't rigid enough for a
1/4" end mill, then a hand drill is completely too flimsy, even if the
material is plastic.

Most hand drills don't actually achieve these speeds, and if you run
them there continuously, they
may have a life of minutes.
