With deep cuts it would. Try a 3mm carbide cutter (they can be bought
cheaply) and take really light cuts (0.5mm or less), I bet you can
crank up the speed especially if you lube. It might not be all that
quick overall but the finish will probably be excellent.

This is essentially the way I have done all my aluminium milling on my
tiny Proxxon mill, I have passes right down to 0.1mm with libral WD40
application. The finish impressed all the guys in the department
workshop who spend all day on bridgeports.
