ELS and the Omikron

What you see on the photo is a 30VAC transformer producing in 42VDC along
with the Ohmikron PPT1006 parallel port stepper controller and two
BSD0906Bipolar PWM Stepper Motor Drivers connected to the Rev 0.2 Electronic
Lead Screw (ELS).

Although the ELS, when it's released, can be configured to have a single 3A
driver for the lead screw, there are instances where either larger motors
are required or occasionally MACH LATHE might be wanted for a single CNC
oriented project. The configuration in the photo demonstrates this.

Unplug the parallel port cable from the ELS and plug it into the back of
your PC (the one you've borrowed from the milling machine) and run MACH2 or
MACH3 LATHE. On my system I have X axis on pins 2,3 and Z axis on pins 6,7
and the spindle index on pin 13.

I'd like to thank Phil from Ohmikron for the assistance. The modules worked
perfectly first time without any problems. For a dual Axis ELS (sometimes
full CNC) 7x12 or 8x14 or Sherline size lathes these little modules are very
nice.
