Hi Roger,
Unfortunately no. Still using the old faithful Delongie.
One thing I do like about the p&p is the conveyor belt. When you put a
board in at one end. an opto switch detects the board is on its way. A
stop pops up which stops the board shooting out the other end. Then 4 pins
pop up and locate in holes in the four corners of the board. This lifts
the board off the belt which stops and the stop is lowered. When the board
is lifted by the pins, the edges of the pcb are pressed against a lip.
Then a plate below the PCB is raised. This plate has a number of
stand-offs that support the board from beneath. I was hold that a lot of
people replace the stand-offs with a block of foam.
The camera then looks for a pair of diagonally placed fiduciles on the
board. From this, the board position offset and rotation are calculated.
Then parts start flowing.
Once it is finished the board is lowered onto the conveyor belt that is
started and the board travels until it sticks out of the machine by an
inch or so. The machine then waits for the next board to be inserted.
One of the interesting aspects is that a single motor rotates all 3 heads
at the same time. Also,the z-axis is pneumatic, pulling the head down to
place a part or pick up a component. The nozzles inside the head are
spring loaded to accomodate for different component heights.
