Hello

I work 10 years whit mach3 and I have work whit Ncpod and the the last machines I work whit the LeaveBoy77 usb card and on that run 4 turning machine 2 milling machine and 2 EDM wire machine.
But for Mach3 let work whitout problems it have take me time to figure it out, and this is RUN ONLY Mach3 on the computer no other programs, no virus program set off the update of Windows. and keep your computer of internet and if you follow this rules then you can wrok whit Mach3 whit out any problems, but best is to start form a computer just format and install windows. And multie tasking if you work whit a CNC program a good rule forget it.
I know in person the guy of USBCNC but like every program if have his good and his bead sites.

greeetings Benny

In my own opinion of course, Debugging USB from Interference and increasing shielding I'm pretty sure would show a good Payoff.  The Open Source community also
has pretty much embraced this type of Interface so I think it will be around Long-Term...   Plus the fact that its a pretty durable connector with Plug-and-Forget technology incorporated.
I think the driving force is pretty much, "People not reading the owners manual first..."  LOL!
All of my Arduino Controller boards and Raspberry Pi Controllers ALL contain several USB ports Each..  So far its the Easiest PNP connector I've seen, next to just going Wireless...
Do you think Machining CNC would Interfere with Wifi-communication in the shop?   Everything seems to be going wireless in Automotive now.  So why not USB and Wireless in the Shop!

What is the current consensus on the various USB motion control options?
While I've not had any problem with parallel port via Mach3, the move to
64bit versions of windows block that path, and while the ITX boxes I've
been using will run later versions of 32 bit windows, XP was/is still
the best base for non-net connected systems?

I'd been seriously considering a USB option, but it seems a number of
these are now being phased out because of 'the susceptibility of the USB
port to interference'. It seems that Ethernet is now the preferred
channel to a co-processor motion control system?

The CNCUSB board I've been running from a recycled laptop seems to work
without any problem and I was about to roll that out on the Taig Mills
I've just had delivered, but the board is no longer available.

Is now the time to make a concerted effort and move to LinuxCNC or cough
up the extra for an Ethernet option?
