I've been following the Mach4-Mk2 developments ( I remember the previous
incarnation of Mach4 ;) ) but we have stuck with an older stable version
of Mach3 which is more than adequate for the smaller mill setups.

Interestingly it's lathe conversions that may drive my on next steps and
certainly LinuxCNC looks like a much more functional base for that.

As with everything these days there is not a single clean answer as to
what to use and one lives with the niggles once one has a system that
works for you.
