We built doors like this for subway cars. The screw should have a fast
lead - at least .500" - or you will have difficulty opening them by hand,
even with ballscrews. I would gladly share the drawings but I no longer
have access to them.
Two suppliers I remember in the rail transit industry are Todco and Morton
Doors. With a little luck you might get access to such drawings through a
property engineer at a rail transit authority. Those that come to mind are
SEPTA, NYCTA, CTA, DART, MAX, MARTA and Metro North.
Let me know where you are located what you turn up. I might be able to call
in a favor from an old buddy.
