Steve,
It will work. Each door has a half nut at the inner top end (left top
corner on a left door; right top corner on a right side door). This nut
carries that side of the door. The other side is carried by a seperate
roller track or slides on the acme screw (pivoted sleeve).
Now, when the doors are closed and power is off, anyone attempting to
force a door open will cause the door to tilt such that the half nut
will dissengage and allow the door to move. When dropped, the half nut
will fall into the thread again. As long as the doors are not too heavy,
it should work easily. OK?
Of course, you know, it will take 2 screws for a double door set.
