Hello Folks,
If You want to make the control part a little easier.
Siemens has now a mini PLC called LOGO.
For the size and price of 2 contactors you get
a nice little PLC that handles 12 inputs 8 outputs and up to 56
logical blocks. It has 20 different special functions that makes it
really interesting for the use in our shops.
There are different types and voltages available for example with
2 analog inputs and as a slave with bus connection to a major PLC.
Today I just finished the program to substitute
all the out aged control of a 30 year old semiautomatic
spring lathe. I can recommend this toy to anybody who
wants to automate something easy in his shop.
Good fun and easy to handle specially if you get the
software and play over cable.
The next project will be to automate a drill press for threading.
The last 20 years a customer has a kid threading 2 different
pieces all day long. Poor Kids
Sven Peter
PS Get yourself the Demo Software V2.0 from the next Electric supplier
and ask me for the upgrade files to run it full option.
