Doug,
Using a Thomas wobble piston pump. It's leftover from a previous project
I was involved with. There's no sticker w/ model number, but it's
roughly equivalent to a 1207-CK75 I can get about 22" vacuum with a part
on the fixture. I have a 4-way ball valve that is center ported.
Center port goes to the fixture. One side port connects to vacuum,
another is going to connect to air pressure for part ejection.
(remaining two are blocked off)
For the coolant, make up a plenum chamber, and install a coalescing
(sp?) air filter between it and the pump. The plenum ought to collect
the vast majority of the liquid, the filter should remove most of the
mist. If you valve things like I'm doing, the plenum stays under vacuum
and will bring the vac chuck down to vacuum much faster. That might be
nice if you are using a larger fixture.
