Good idea Jon,

Vacuum is created all the time with a venturi. Often they use water or steam. Water works very well as you can pull down to the
vapor pressure of the water. Recycle water in a 55 gal drum using a pump to circulate thru the venturi. Works quite well. Small
venturi's are available thru scientific supply houses...attach to a sink spout. Larger ones are usually cast iron or brass/bronze.
Some are even made out of glass. A quick web search should get you a brand name. You may want to take a look at one and go make
your own. :-)
