Sorry to dissapoint you Ian - Never did manage to get a reliable build with
RedHat 7.0. Needed to chase around for a virgin kernel source and then there
are still some major stumbling blocks with the compilers. Not a suitable Distro
for the newbie (or me).

Just as a rough guide to the RedHat versions

RH 5.2 - Solid stable and well documented for EMC
RH 6.0 - Reliable and the 5.2 notes can be applied
RH 6.1 - Noted a couple of broken links with Tcl/Tk but these can be fixed.
RH 6.2 - Minor problem with one header file, but again an easy fix.
RH 7.0 - Not for the faint hearted.
RH 7.1 - Do not touch - Beta release.

SuSE, Mandrake, and other Distros will work, but some tweeking and a sense of
adventure is called for.
