e2fsck is the linux equivalent of the Win scandisk tool - It maybe that disks
larger than 8.4Mb were not available for testing when e2fsck was written.
I'm currently running a number of drives ranging from the baby 420Mb up to a
midrange 30Gb IDE - All with no trouble with RH 6.x.
The auto install had no difficulty in configuring any of the drives I've tried
except for a vintage 124Mb.
Regards, Paul.
