A good way to understand gap backlash compensation and answers a
previous post question is:
If you command the table to move the same as your backlash
compensation and you have no compensation value entered...the motor-
turns will just "take up the gap" and not move the table.
If you have compensation implemented, no matter what you command,
even less than the gap, and the table will move the correct commanded
amount.
