With regard to software backlash comp, if the value given to the
software is correct and cutting forces are not moving the table
around, then the move inserted by the software will not cause the
table to move at all. Instead it will simply move the screw from
contacting the nut on one side of the groove to contacting it on the
other. Of course if the number you give it also includes something
elastic like typical timing belt stretch, then all bets are off.
