That is a bad question to ask on this group. It is like talking politics
or religion. There are 2 primary camps for lower cost programs, Vector
(my favorite) and Dolphin. There is also BobCAD and it has it's
advocated, but they are not as vocal as the Vector and Dolphin users (if
I made the "quality" decision to buy BobCAD I would try to keep it quiet
also <g>). Fred at IMS gives the list some serious discounts on Vector
with a great deal on the 3D/Surfacing version going on until Monday.
Fred is also active in his support both on the list and on his own
support forum. Dolphin's US distributor is not active with online
support as far as I can tell and they have no online user support forum
either. I am told that Dolphin is very helpful with e-mail or phone
support which is from the headquarters in the UK. Vector support is from
the USA distributor so phone calls are a lot cheaper and the time zones
are not quite the problem.
There are a number of new programs that are getting their converts, but
are not quite to the level of proselytizing that that the Vector and
