RE: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] Re: What cnc setup to buy for my sherline mill?

I understand that you don't want yet another hobby, but 'programming' this
software is akin to selecting an item on a menu and entering a number.

For TurboCNC, there are four numbers that must be set for each axis to
specify its mechanical parameters and another five or so to specify the
motion, along with one that sets the number of axes. I suspect that many of
the others are equally simple. My only adivice would be to stay away from
EMC, not because it's a bad program, but because you indicated that you
didn't want yet another hobby.

|Tim is right, I am not an electrical enigineer :-) I know if I had
|time there are lot cheaper ways I can go. But I am looking for a
|tool, not another "hobby". I really need to plug and play (I know
|it's not that easy). I am still worried about going the route that
|tim suggested because I still have to program the software I choose
|to know how many steps, revolutions, and all of that. The fact that
|flashcut is plug and play is a huge plus, but a 1k plus I don't know
|yet. I have been told that master5 is the way to go, but it is
|really picky on the computer you use and I would have to go buy
|another computer for the setup.
|
|I am looking at placing my order whichever way on monday, so I really
|appreciate everyones suggestions on all options.
