Agreed, some people need to be taken by the hand and are willing to pay for
it. I agree on the Windows issue, but Flashcut no longer has the lock on
that market like they used to.
Here is what I would do if I wanted the no brainer Sherline conversion that
ran on Windows:
Assuming you already have the manual mill
Sherline factory motor mounts ( I am a Sherline dealer and will sell them at
$157.25 for the #6700 kit. Go to www.KTMarketing.com )
Dan's tested 3 axis system for $500 (Brand new on his site and a complete
turnkey controller with power supply)
Dan's 210 in/oz motors at $119 each ($357 total)
Master5 (buy now and you will get a free license for the new Mach1 when
released, $100)
Just over $1100 and no thinking involved. That is $700 off the Flashcut
price and includes the motor mounts and stronger motors. For the savings you
can buy a copy of Vector NURBS at Fred's current list deal price.
OK, I agree Flashcut will give you an 800 number for the extra money.
