I checked it with a meter before installing. So I'm confidant that
it was not a wrong value.

Luckily, I have not had the stepper drive into a stop under power to
find out what happens, but if the Gecko was set completely wrong,
what would happen ?

seems that using 18 ga wire between the Gecko and stepper the wire
can handle the amps.

The stepper lead wire is much smaller, so that would be a potential
weak point. of course the motor windings, and the Gecko itself.

I assume that many of us on here have driven into a stop of one sort
or another, but most would just stall out the motor.
