Hi Chris,
I have some "Zinc hub and neoprene sleeve coupling" (rubber
couplings)and I get a some backlash from them. This will be more
noticable as the rubber dries out and doesn't fit on the hub as
nicely as it does when it is new and fresh. I don't think you are
going to get nearly (if any really) the slop from a nice helical beam
coupling (it's all one piece). On the other hand, the rubber
couplings are really cheap!
