Since you are re-designing the G201/G210 I again bring up my
suggested scheme to save output pins (on the parallel port),
which would enable (for example) control of 6 axes with only 7 pins
(which otherwise would require using all 12 output pins).

Simply, all the drives have their Direction pins tied to a
single Direction output pin on the computer.

Each driver gets their own independent Step pin. Axes going different
directions obviously can't be stepped simultaneously, but must wait
for a microsecond or two... a delay which wouldn't be noticed by the motor.

I have talked to a number of programmers (of gcode interpreters
to parallel port output), and they say the idea is feasible
for them, but the timing constraints on the Geckos just don't allow it.

Mariss, please let us know if this is true, and if so, perhaps
the next version can fix it.
