Alex: The SS50's are "Slow Speed" (72 RPM) AC-SYNchronous motors with 50
in-oz output torque. A "unipolar" motor is a STEPPER motor which is
visually very similar, but would have SIX wires. A BIpolar stepper has FOUR
wires.

For a SS50 to run, you need a capacitor and a series resistor (values of
which see in the data-pages of the S.E. catalogs), and 120 VAC (50 or 60 Hz.
And the values of cap and resistor are DIFFERENT for these two
line-frequencies!).

There is (or ONCE WAS?) a "HS50" which was a "High Speed" version which ran
at 200 RPM.
