Well, just because a Sherline is small does not mean it is a toy. I have no
doubt that with a proper conversion, good software and careful use that a
Sherline mill or lathe can produce thousands of parts under CNC control and
do it for a very long time. I love my 5400, I just wish Joe Martin would
make a longer table for it. I am working on a table that will give 12" in
the x axis, I am using K6 precision ground cast aluminum tooling plate which
I think will eliminate the warping problems that currently prevent Sherline
from making a longer table.
