If this is the Max 10 mill is the one being announced on the Max NC
site for $1600, which seems a coincidence if it isn't, then the
seller was representing this to be a CL (closed loop) servo model,
which is sold new for around $2300 I think. (I won't check - slow
bandwidth) If so and the seller is honest, it isn't quite as bad a
deal as I'm reading in responses here, But I'm not familar with the
mill.

I have this same MaxNC 10 CL KIT retrofitted to a Sherline mill and
everything from MaxNC works fine, no surprises. I chose Sherline
because of the larger Z-axis bite that I needed.

Cost for this servo system: mill: $660 (through a Sherline dealer -
(I received the fancy adjustable handwheels with it) + MaxNC 10 CL
KIT: around $825. Everything went together fine. Otto at MaxNC
answered all my dumb setup questions and I'm on my WinXP computer
working fine in Gcode, no surprises. Beat that price
$660+around$825=$1485 for a SERVO system.
