Thanks Ron, I saw that. It says it doesn't work with the closed
loop MaxNC and no guarantee with Win XP. Both which I am on. I
think WinXP runs a DOS emulator through XP and not true DOS. This
emulator creates some problems if the DOS programs are not prepared
for them. I'm not a computer geek so I have to stop there.
IMO, my motors are PLENTY fast. It is my understanding that the MAX
NC closed loop motors (which I have) are much faster than the open
loop motors. I really have no desire to speed them up: they're too
fast for me already (unless I'm interested in launching projectiles
with my MaxNC (joke)).
Comparing MaxNC 10 CL system features with the new Sherline turnkey
CNC mill setup in terms of price/performance, I wouldn't be
surprised if Sherline's control system develops the reputation (I
hear) of MaxNC's hardware and anyone who has it backwards will
inherit the best of both worlds.
