I am a Sherline dealer and while I think their machines are very nice
and use them quite a bit myself, I am left a little cold on their CNC
turnkey package. Seems to me that at $2350 for the package is a little
steep. Especially when you figure in the support that is listed on the
site as: Support: 1 hour free phone or e-mail technical support.

$825 5400 CNC mill
$210 3 of the 67127 stepper motors with plug
$268 for a fast computer from the same manufacture through Walmart
$0 EMC
$500 Complete turnkey Xylotex based driver box from a variety of sources

------------------------------------
$1803 Total

Heck, I will even save you an additional $155 if you buy the mill and
steppers through me. So I can't quite figure out what it is in the
Sherline turn key system that makes it worth the extra $550 - $700 over
using the exact same mill and software and doing it yourself. Heck you
even save enough that you can buy an XP license and Mach1/(2) and have a
4th axis that is actually usable and pay for the rotary table too and
still have some change for dinner out. While what I am suggesting is not
turnkey, if you can't handle bolting on some motors and plugging them
into a fully wired and tested box than you probably should not be
considering a CNC machine.
