referred to as a closed loop stepper system, not a servo. The use of
servo for your setup is a marketing ploy to make people think they
are getting something other than a closed loop stepper system.
I would be very interested in any feedback as to whether or not you
actually can reliably rapid your machine at 50 IPM. and/or what you
find the practical maximum feedrate for the Sherline. If you cut a
complex curve with some sharp corners, at a high feedrate, do you see
any corner rounding or does it make nice square corners?
Also if you run any extended cutting under load, whether or not the
motors get hot.
