I live in an area that has never seen any
manufacturing of any kind so I will have to spend a
lot of time driving around to look at stuff. (I won't
buy anything unless I can see it first) The second
problem is that since I know very little about this
stuff I could really screw up and buy junk even if I
am driving there to look at it! So this is why I was
looking at the smaller brand new machines. Mostly
aluminum is what I will machine, and all of the items
are probably going to be small. Someday I would like
to go CNC on the mill, but my main reason for buying
the thing is so I can make my own parts to build a CNC
router table. I have $700 - $1000 in stuff to have
machined at the local shop,(which is not much, only a
day and a half for him) but I would rather spend that
money on something that I can keep in the end. Plus I
will be forced to learn how to machine parts, oh darn
:)
