The Gecko 201 has a common +5 V terminal. You ground the step and
dir pins to make current flow through the LED in the opto-coupler.
The recommended wiring for the G210 also has it that way.
So, you'd put a switch to ground on the DIR pin, and supply +5 V to
the common pin. But, that may not be how you are doing it to use
your pulse generator.

Way oil has a sticky additive that helps it to not run off of parts, and
to stay
in between things that would otherwise squeeze it out. You really need to
use an oil made specifically for machine ways. It makes a huge difference.
