Amperage dictates the wire gauge required. I'm using 14 stranded for my motor leads. 15 amps are what my drives are fused for and 14 will handle 15 amps no problem. Of course the longer the lead the higher resistance resulting in a voltage drop. Not something we need to be concerned about as the leads on our retrofits are generally short. I noticed with the Geckos that once the terminals have been tightened one time it bends a tab down inside the terminal block making it difficult to get a wire back in once it is removed. I had to fully loosen the clamping screw and take a small probe and bend them back up to get the heavier wires in again.
