These motors won't do 5600 RPM with a Gecko drive. With a supply of 70V
you will get an absolute top speed of 3500RPM. They have far more torque
than you need so why gear them down so much? It is like driving your car
in 1st gear at 30mph. It will do it but it will be much happer in a
higher gear.

In a previous post you say you are looking at 0.03698 in/rev. My mill is
0.1"/rev and it will snap a 3/8" cutter like a dry twig. If you have a
piece of steel flip up and jam in the torch it would be better to stall
the drive than totally destroy the torch.

If you end up with the motor only revving up to 1000RPM it is not a
problem. In fact for a plasma it is a positive advantage. At higher
speeds the rotor inertia will be a considerable percentage of the system
inertia. Gearing the motor down too much can actually reduce your
acceleration.
