For 4-conductor bipolar motors, the 4-pin+shield nickel-plated knurled and
machined microphone connectors Radio Shack sells are great! They fasten with
a threaded retaining ring, and are SOLID, and if mounted properly,
essentially dust-proof. Though for only "microphone" and "PTT push-button contacts",
they will surely handle ten amps with NO stress, as the pins and sockets are
fat and sturdy.
For 6-wire unipolar, I have used "Type 126" connectors I buy at a local
surplus-dealer. Sorry, I do not know the maker, but these have seven gold-plated
pins and sockets are machined collets. I'd rate them at 5 amp duty with NO
problem, so long as the insertion/removal is done ONLY with power-OFF! The
molded insulated plug and socket are blue "mil-grade" phenolic of some kind.
(hard no-melt plastic). Both the male and female ends have "solder cups",
ALL gold-plated. FINE stuff.
"DIN connectors" are good, too. I can't cite numbers, etc., as I just drive
over to said vendor and "pick what I want" from the bins on the shelves,
never memorizing the PN's, and "make" is often not specified there.
