Andy-

I would agree that you have to take some extra care using a tinned
wire in a terminal strip, I find that you have to tighten them in two
stages. I'll tighten them once and let them sit a little while. After
that they will have deformed slightly, not totally loose, but enough
to need one more cinch. After that they won't need any additional
tightening and I find them to be extremely reliable, I believe more
reliable than a non-tinned wire. I always strain relieve my wires
prior to the terminal strip so they are never seeing any flex there.

Probably not a method to use in production because of the extra steps
required but I like it for home built equipment. I wouldn't recommend
ever putting two wires in a single terminal strip outlet, tinned or
untinned.

On another front, fellas please, no Radio Shack mike connector parts
on your CNC machines, you're asking for trouble. Find a "real"
connector on www.digikey.com or www.mouser.com .
