I am using 12.5 in-lb servos on a full size BP. With a 4:1 ratio
that gets me to 50 in-lb at the leadscrew. Commercial retrofits
using 28 in-lb servos and with 2:1 stock pulleys produce 56 in-lb at
the leadscrew. I figure this ratio will get me just a bit under
the torque that a commercial retrofit is running. These servos
will run at 3000+ RPM and get rapids of 150 ipm or better.
If I am going to err, I would rather err on the safe side rather
than have any problems down the road.
I see no harm in going with the 4:1 ratio, but of course I keep
an open mind to suggestions.
