The issue IMO is what constitutes "abuse", and more importantly
where that level which constitutes abuse falls within
what's "typical" for the user to do, and have.
As I mentioned, I didn't know that HCNC boards were frying chips and
traces until yesterday. (AND I understand that HCNC is dealing with
the issues of a user-built product; so I'll cut GENEROUS slack for
that!)
We haven't had any pops except those which we purposely tested to
destruction during product development and evaluation.
When you sell to users who are not electronics savvy, you have to
factor in for the inevitable errors in construction and application.
Unless you take that out of the equation by not selling user-built
electronics. That's why we don't offer electronic "kits". Or bare
boards.
As long as you don't unplug the supplied or approved motors while
under power, and use a proper A/C line supply; if ours pop, it's our
fault. We'll fix them.
Probably by just sending out a new box; so you're up and running
again as quickly as possible. We DEFINITELY will want that old box
back to see if we can determine what happened... To improve the
product and increase satisfaction for subsequent customers.
So far, no pops. Just plug and use.
